A number of Palestinians were injured on Saturday following attacks carried out by extremist Israeli settlers east of Jerusalem and south of Nablus, while the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped a number of citizens from different West Bank areas.
In Jerusalem, several citizens and two foreign activists were injured after dozens of settlers carried out a large-scale attack on the Khilat al-Sidra Bedouin community near the town of Mikhmas, northeast of the holy city. The attackers set several homes and two vehicles ablaze.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the assault resulted in several citizens being injured and the torching of two vehicles and eight homes. Local sources said the settlers fired live ammunition during the attack before proceeding to assault citizens and their property.
Ambulance crews from the Red Crescent provided the wounded with first aid and transferred a number of them, including two foreign activists, to the hospital.
In Nablus, local sources reported that settlers from the illegal Rehelim settlement attacked Palestinian homes in the village of Yatma, south of the city, near the settlement’s outskirts. They assaulted several citizens by spraying them with pepper spray. The sources added that Israeli soldiers arrived and provided protection for the settlers.
In Ramallah, IOF kidnapped two young men following raids in Abboud village, north of the province. Israeli occupation forces also kidnapped another young man and confiscated his car in Silwad town, east of Ramallah.
Another citizen was taken prisoner during an IOF raid in Tulkarem City’s Shuweika suburb.
Earlier, IOF kidnapped Palestinian journalist Farouq Alyat after ransacking his home at dawn in the town of Deir Abu Da’if, east of Jenin.
IOF also stormed other areas of the West Bank on the same day and blocked some roads, with no reported arrests.
