United States House Speaker Mike Johnson said Thursday that a Republican defeat in the November elections would trigger a “nightmare scenario,” in a clear attempt to scare voters over a Democrat victory during the upcoming polls
During his campaign address with Republican candidate Tano Tijerina in Texas, the US House speaker said such scenario would roil financial markets, eroding confidence in the United States and empowering its adversaries around the world “at the worst possible time.”
“This is for all the marbles. We cannot lose this midterm,” Johnson told the crowd. “I want you to imagine a nightmare scenario with these insurgent Marxist Democrats taking over the Congress.”

Then Johnson dropped his warning.
“They would impeach the president on the first day,” he claimed. “They’ve already said what they’re going to do.”
Johnson predicted that a Democratic House would turn its attention immediately to Trump, his family and his administration.
“They’ll convert every committee of Congress into an investigative body,” Johnson said. “They’ll spend every waking hour investigating the president and his family and the Cabinet and going on this lawfare exercise.”
The US speaker warned that Democratic investigations would “roil the markets,” undermine confidence in the US and its economy and “empower our enemies across the globe at the worst possible time.”
