Lebanon’s House Speaker Welcomes Saudi Envoy, Jordanian FM

House Speaker Nabih Berri, on Wednesday met Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan and his accompanying delegation at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh, in the presence of the Jordan’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid al-Hadid, and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny.

The meeting reportedly addressed developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the bilateral ties between Lebanon and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Speaker also received in Ain al-Tineh, the Saudi envoy, Prince Yazid bin Farhan, in the presence of Speaker Berri’s Political Advisor and “Development and Liberation” parliamentary bloc MP Ali Hassan Khalil.

Berri later received the Chairman and Board members of the Tripoli Special Economic Zone, headed by Hassan Dannawi, in a protocol visit upon assuming office. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the work of the economic zone and ways to revitalize and activate its role.

This afternoon, Speaker Berri followed up on the general situation, political developments and legislative affairs during his meeting with the Secretary General of the Tashnag Party, MP Hagop Pakradounian.
