Israeli Suspension of Adhan at Ibrahimi Mosque in West Bank’s Al-Khalil Enters 14th Day

For the 14th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have prevented the call to prayer (Adhan) at the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil (Hebron), while also imposing restrictions on worshippers’ access and maintaining what local sources describe as ongoing Judaization measures at the site.

Occupation authorities have repeatedly closed Bab Al-Souq, the mosque’s main entrance, for extended periods, significantly obstructing the entry of worshippers, Palestinian media reported on Saturday.

In a related development, the head of the mosque’s custodians and the director of the Ibrahimi Mosque were expelled for 12 days over allegations of violating military instructions related to the placement of prayer mats during settler incursions, according to the Palestinian Information Center.

Five mosque employees are also being interrogated over the same issue.

Meanwhile, AL-Khalil Municipality staff continue to be barred from providing services in the mosque’s vicinity after their administrative powers were revoked by the occupation authorities.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli Settlements and National Projects Minister Orit Strock celebrated expanding Israeli control over the Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied Hebron, declaring that the site belongs to Israeli settlers.
