Syrian army on Saturday established control over important points east of al-Sukhnah city deep into al-Badiya, achieving a new advance in the military operation in Homs eastern countryside.
Hezbollah Military Media Center reported that Syrian army achieved major advances against ISIL Takfiri group in al-Badiya area. The center quoted sources as saying that the Syrian army regained control of strategic points to the east of Aal-Sukhnah.
Meanwhile, SANA news agency confirmed the news, quoting a military source as saying that the Syrian army units launched intensive operations against ISIS positions to the north of al-Sukhnah city on the international road towards Deir Ezzor, destroying the last gatherings of ISIS terrorists at a number of strategic points.
The source added that the army units have consolidated positions in the liberated points after combing them fully and dismantling the IEDs and mines left behind by the terrorists, paving the way for the implementation of new operations towards the east and advancing further towards Deir Ezzor.
