Hezbollah denounced Saturday’s attack on a wedding in Turkey’s eastern city of Gaziantep which turned happy moments into sad ones.

(archive)In a statement released on Sunday, Hezbollah described the crime as a “terrorist” attack and offered its condolences to the Turkish people and the victims’ families.

At least 50 people were killed and scores wounded when a bomb hit a wedding party. Reports said more than half of the victims are below the age of 14.

“The ongoing crimes that ISIL is committing in more than one country and area in the world, without discriminating between people, especially if it was proved that a young child is the one who committed this heinous crime, confirms that the organization is deeply involved in shedding the blood of the innocent without any restraint,” the statement read.

The party said this crime reaffirms the need to confront, fight and uproot terrorism. “Hezbollah always expresses its solidarity with those wronged in the world and calls for unity between the people of our nations as well as solidarity and the expulsion of terrorists behind their backs and fight the destructive Takfiri ideologies.”
