Lebanese army forces raided a Syrian refugee makeshift camp in the town of Masharih al-Qaa close to the Syrian border, state media reported on Friday, one day after the military detained four senior ISIL members in a stealthy operation.

Army in ArsalThe National News Agency said that the army was searching for "suspected terrorists" residing among the refugees.

The wide-scale raid came a day after an army unit stormed a house in the Wadi Ata area of the northeastern town, situated about 124 kilometers (77 miles) northeast of the capital Beirut, on Thursday and managed to arrest four terrorists after engaging in a firefight with them, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The four men, one of whom died later of his wounds, were identified as Lebanese nationals Tareq al-Fliti and Sameh al-Breidi plus two Syrians, whose identities were not immediately available.

Takfiri terrorists from ISIL and Fateh al-Sham Front, formerly al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front, are holed up on the outskirts of Arsal and the Lebanese army regularly shells their posts.
