The Saudi-backed delegation to Yemeni talks in Kuwait rejected to include more than 137 prisoners in the swap deal which the United Nations is trying to hold before the Holy Month of Ramadan, well-informed sources told Al-Manar.

The sources clarified that the original deal was set to release 1000 prisoners from both of the warring sides; however the Saudi-backed delegation submitted a list of 2630 hostages, claiming that they are detained in Sanaa.

"The Saudi-led team refused to clarify the conditions of around 4000 prisoners from the Yemeni army and the popular committees."

The sources concluded by saying that the national party is ready to carry out the deal if the Saudi-backed side contributed positively to the issue.

Yemen has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition.

Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
