Iraqi military sources said that the allied forces captured al-Karma town on Friday, adding that ISIL's black flag was removed from the town's buildings and that the Iraqi flag was raised instead.

Fierce clashes took place between the allied forces and the Takfiri insurgents, the sources said, adding that the recapture of the Karma, 16 km away from Falluja, is an achievement because of the strategic position of the town.

"As they entered the town, PMF removed ISIL flags and raised the Iraqi flags on the buildings instead.

US-led coalition air and artillery strikes have killed 70 ISIL fighters in Fallujah, including the jihadists' leader in the Iraqi city, a military spokesman said Friday.
