Russian Foreign Ministry said claims that Iran missile program poses threat to NATO are unfounded.

Press secretary of the US Embassy in Moscow, William Stevens, said earlier on Wednesday that Iran continued to develop and test ballistic missiles of increasingly longer range that could reach NATO Europe.

"It is unclear what the assertions about the Iranian missile program posing a threat are based upon. For whom? If for the US, it's ridiculous, because the range of Iranian missiles is less than 2,000 kilometers [some 1,243 miles]. Even US forces in Europe are located farther away from Iran," Ulyanov said, according to Sputniknews.
