A new batch of US Marines arrived in al-Anad air base in the Yemeni province of Lahj, local sources reported.

A new batch of US Marines arrived in al-Anad air base in the southwestern Yemeni province of Lahj, local sources reported.

The sources told Yemeni TV, al-Massirah, that two planes carrying US Marines and military equipments arrived in al-Anad air base on Friday morning.

The move is the second in two days, when at least 100 member of the elite forces, Rangers, arrived in al-Anad air base.US forces arrive in Yemen's Anad air base

It comes as the US forces are operating in the eastern province of Hadramaut under the pretext of countering al-Qaeda-linked militants.

Al-Anad air base is the biggest one in Yemen. It served as a headquarters for US intelligence-gathering and so-called counterterrorism operations in southern Yemen until the entrance of the Yemeni army and popular committees to the country's south in a bid to hunt for al-Qaeda-linked militants and militias of fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

For its part, the National Front in the South condemned the US deployment, warning that "all options are on table in order to liberate the entire Yemeni territory."

"The arrival of US forces in the south took place as the mercenaries delegation in Kuwait is apparently dodging during the talks," the National Front in the South said Friday in a statement.

Yemen has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition.

Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
