Israeli Occupation Blocks off Gaza, West Bank for Jewish Holiday

Israeli occupation authorities announced the closure of all points of entry between the occupied West Bank, the Gaza strip, and the occupied territories on Friday and Saturday for the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Israeli occupation authorities announced the closure of all points of entry between the occupied West Bank, the Gaza strip, and the occupied territories on Friday and Saturday for the Jewish holiday of Passover.

The blockade was decided after "an evaluation of the security situation", an occupation military spokesperson told AFP without giving specifics.crossing

The Israeli government regularly closes off access to occupied territories for Palestinians during major Jewish religious festivals.

"We will act against these provocateurs by deploying security reinforcements in areas of friction," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week.

The occupied territories have been, since October 1, rocked by a wave of operations against Zionists in retaliation of the Israeli repressive measures against the Palestinians across the West Bank and especially in al-Quds.

Zionist settlers backed by occupation forces have been repeatedly storming the holy al-Aqsa Mosque, sparking Palestinian anger.

However the occupation forces have been brutally attacking the Palestinians under the pretext of staging stabbing attacks.

The Palestinian operations since the start of October have killed 28 Israelis, while the Israeli occupation forces killed 201 Palestinians.
