Lebanese G.S. Arrests ISIL Cell Recruiting Minors to Carry out Terrorist Attacks

Lebanese General Security said Friday that a group belonging to the so-called ’Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) takfiri organization has been arrested.

Lebanese General SecurityLebanese General Security said Friday that a group belonging to the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri organization has been arrested after it worked on recruiting minor children in order to carry out terrorist attacks across the country.

"Within the framework of chasing terrorist groups and sleeper cells operating in Lebanon, the General Directorate of General Security arrested the Lebanese (Kh. Kh.), (B.S.) and (A.M.), and the Syrian (M. J.) for establishing a terrorist network," the GS said in a statement.

During interrogation, the men admitted that they belong to ISIL terrorist organization and that they are active in recruiting members, primarily minor children, in order to task them with carrying out terrorist attacks against the Lebanese army and security forces.

"Following investigations, the arrested men were referred to the competent jurists, as efforts are kept going on to arrest the remaining involved members," the statement added.
