The Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, on Thursday regretted the fact that Lebanon had not been able to fend off the repercussions of regional developments on the Lebanese internal scene.
“We hope we will be able to surpass major hurdles and continue our march lifting the state,” the President said in an address he gave earlier on Thursday to a visiting delegation of the consular corps in Lebanon.
In turn, Dean of the Honorary Consular Corps in Lebanon, Joseph Habis, praised the achievements of the President’s tenure, which witnessed in 2018 successful parliamentary elections.
“We hope that Lebanon would eventually manage to overcome all the political obstacles. We hope that those in charge will prove to be up to the Lebanese people’s aspirations by forming a capable cabinet,” Habis said.
