Syrian and Lebanese foreign ministers stressed importance of coordination between the two countries as they met in New York on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
Gebran Bassil and Walid al-Moallem discussed on Thursday the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, including political and economic coordination and cooperation, SANA news agency reported.
“The Syrian-Lebanese relations are firm no matter how much some try to put obstacles in their way,” al-Moallem said during the meeting.
He touched upon the developments in the field of combating terrorism and with regard to the Astana process and the de-escalation zones, stressing that Syria will go ahead in fighting terrorism.
For his part, Bassil highlighted the importance of the relations and coordination between Syria and Lebanon in the various fields.
He pointed out that the victories achieved in Syria against terrorism will force those who have a negative attitude towards Syria to reconsider their position and join the reconstruction process in the country.
