A ceasefire deal brokered by Lebanon General Security Chief Abbas Ibrahim was reached on Thursday in Arsal outskirts in preparation for the withdrawal of Nusra Front terrorists from the Syria-Lebanon border.
The ceasefire came into effect as of 6:00 am (Local Time).
The agreement stipulations include releasing 5 Hezbollah fighters who had been captured by Nusra terrorists, according to Al-Manar sources.
As per the deal, al-Nusra militants and their families shall leave to Idlib province in Syria.
General Ibrahim, who visited House Speaker Nabih Berri to inform him about the details of the ceasefire agreement, is expected to release a statement detailing the ceasefire terms in the next few hours.
Meanwhile, calm is prevailing over Arsal and its outskirts, as well as over the heights of Wadi Hmayed and al-Malahi.
