Syrian Army and Armed Forces units, backed by the Syrian Air Force, targeted positions of ISIL and al-Nusra Front terrorists in several areas in Deir Ezzor and Homs provinces.
The Syrian warplanes targeted ISIL gatherings in Qarra barrens in Qalamoun in the capital’s countryside, killing or injuring a number of the takfiri militants.
Army units, backed by the Air Force, launched on Wednesday airstrikes against fortifications of ISIL terrorists in neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city and in its countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon them in weaponry and personnel.
A military source told SANA that the army units destroyed a car bomb and fortifications of the terrorists, killing many of them in aerial and artillery bombardments in al-Tharda mountain, al-Bu Omar, al-Mrei’iyeh, al-Bugheiliyeh, al-Husseiniyeh, al-Jafra, Hweijet Saqr, al-Hossan and al-Rushdiyeh.
SANA correspondent in Deir Ezzor said an army unit monitored a radio-controlled plane loaded with highly explosive materials in Tal Brouk area that was flying towards a military post, adding that it was destroyed before reaching its target.
Army units destroy 5 vehicles for ISIL and kill a number of its terrorists in Um al-Mari and Deir Hafir in the area surrounding the Air Force Academy in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Army units killed a number of ISIL terrorists and destroyed 10 tanks to the north of abandoned battalion, Beir al-Foaira and Jahar to the west of Tadmur (Palmyra) in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Earlier, the Syrian Air Force carried out sorties targeting gatherings and sites for al-Nusra terrorists to the north of Izz al-Din village in Homs countryside, according to SANA’s reporter.
The reporter said that as a result of the sorties, a rocket launcher, a car equipped with a 23mm machinegun, and a mortar launchers nest were destroyed, and a number of al-Nusra terrorists were killed.
